Taking Care Our Parents

In east world, daughters or sons take care their old parents. Taking care of parents when they are old is an honorable and compulsion for easterner. Parents still live with their children even they are very old and weak. People do not let their parents live in the senior citizen center. We will have difficulties finding senior citizen centre in eastern country especially in a small town. Parents usually live in their house or their children houses. They usually live with their youngest child if they have more than one children. On the other hand, if they live in their own house, one of their children usually live nearby. This is a custom for eastern culture, in all level of society.  Even at this moment there are few senior citizen centre in cities, people still consider that parents are better live with their children. sons or daughters never judge the parent weaknesses as their burden, even old people are weak but they have something in excess for their children.

Parents are ones who take care their child since they are baby until they grow up and they can earn their living. Parents always try to fulfill what their children need with their much effort. Even if they have to work 24 hours to fulfill their children needs, they will do it. They educate their children, responsible for paying their children tuition fee, in general they responsible for their children living. With this reason, easterners believe that they have to be responsible for their parents when they are old and weak, just like their parents do when they still need their parents. They can be what they are to be if their parents never take care of them. They feel that they should repay their parents kindness, even taking care children is a parent duty and parents never ask for the repayment.

By taking care their parents, they can make their parents happy. If old people live in a senior citizen centre, their children will not be able to know what they need. Old people will ask to the nurse who take care of them anything they need. In addition, sometimes easterners have difficulties in asking something to a stranger, some one that he is not well acquainted with. Nevertheless, if they live with their children they will easily asking for what they need. Besides, if they live in a senior citizen center they will feel alienated and isolated. They are happy if they live with their children and grand children. They will not have a feeling that they are weak or unproductive. They feel that their children still need their help. Easterners believe that parents have many experiences in life than their children; therefore, when their children have problems in their life they can ask advice to their parents. Even parents do not give financial aids; they give support to their children.

Those are some reason why easterners have custom living with their parents. They really love and appreciate their parents very much, taking care of old parents is a devotion of the children. By taking care their parents, they believe that they can live in heaven after they die. Moreover, there is a belief on a quote that says “Heaven is beneath your mother feet”, this is a Moslem's quotes. This quotes means that every one who seek God’s favor, they have to obey and make their parents happy, especially their mother, because their mothers deliver them into this earth. God will be angry if they make their parents angry, and God will bless them if they make their parents happy. Of course, this quote refers to good parents.  So they take care to their parents, especially their mother, even they are weak and they are not productive, parents will bring happiness to their children.
